Chakra (Pali: chakka, Tibetan: khorlo, Malay: cakera) is a term from traditional Indian culture/religion for places in the supposed energy body of a human being that are considered important within that tradition for their life force. Chakra (Sanskrit cakram) means circle or wheel.

Crown Chakra - unity with the Divine
The Sahasrara (crown chakra) is associated with spirituality and enlightenment. This seventh chakra deals with the pursuit of higher states of consciousness. An open seventh chakra causes a sense of deep peace and harmony, beyond duality. This leads to experiences of total happiness and establishes a connection with a reality that lies beyond thought. The energy of this chakra can lead to reaching the Mahatma, 'the great soul'. According to New Age philosophy, this chakra is violet in color.

Third eye chakra - pure being
The Ajna (third eye chakra), as a spiritual center, provides attentiveness and consciousness. An important symbol for the sixth chakra is Shakti Hakini, an androgynous deity who represents both the masculine and feminine aspects (duality is transcended). According to New Age beliefs, the Ajna chakra (also called the third eye chakra) is indigo in color and provides the connection to the spiritual world, opens the gates to intuitive knowledge, and refers to a reality that emerges once the dualistic perception of the world is transcended and thoughts come to rest. Because the forehead chakra influences the functioning of all endocrine glands, it is essential for health.

Throat chakra - clairaudience
The Vishuddha (throat chakra) forms the sound and speech center in the body. According to New Age philosophy, the fifth chakra (also called the throat chakra) is blue in color and connects the heart center with the forehead chakra; it is considered the mediator between feeling and thinking. This chakra aligns them with each other and ensures, for example, that reason does not gain the upper hand.

Heart chakra - clairsentience
The Anahata (heart chakra) connects the lower three chakras of instincts with the upper three chakras of higher, human consciousness. According to New Age philosophy, this chakra is green in color and regulates the functioning of the heart, lungs, and breathing. Stable blood circulation, a strong heart, a healthy heart rhythm, and deep, relaxed breathing indicate that the heart chakra is in balance.

Solar Plexus - clairvoyance
The Manipura (navel chakra) is considered the most important place for storing energy. According to New Age philosophy, this chakra is yellow in color and is associated with the pancreas, stomach, gallbladder, liver, spleen, small intestine, abdominal cavity, and autonomic nervous system. This chakra regulates digestion and has a major influence on the functioning of the lower body, stomach, liver, and spleen.

Sacral Chakra - clairgustant
According to the New Age, the Swadhisthana (sacral chakra) is orange in color and is connected to the gonads, reproductive organs, sacrum, pelvic region, uterus, kidneys, bladder, circulation, and water balance.

Root chakra - clear smelling
The Muladhara is said to establish the connection between the body, the earth, and the way you move through the world. According to New Age philosophy, the first chakra is red in color and, on a physical level, is related to problems with the lower back, large intestine, bones, hips, pelvis, and buttocks.
