Trust expresses itself in an unceasing joy that everything is good as it may be. The only thing you can do now is be aware of life.

Learning objectives and topics

True religion is about trust, daring to let go, and going with the flow of being. De wish To come closer to a God, closer to a reality of purity and love, is what will ultimately hold you back from achieving it. A wish, a desire, is the door that just does not seem to open. Even on the spiritual path, it will be the wish that keeps the door to true realization closed. Awakening is trust, awakening is simply being aware.

Let go of everything in trust

It is the greatest challenge you will encounter in life. First the desire to draw closer to God, only to then have to let go of this desire. It will no longer serve you when you arrive at the door of His house. The greatest emptiness will open up before you, and it asks you only one thing: trust. Can you truly trust? Do you truly dare to let go of everything in the confidence that you will be caught?

Trust is now

When you jump off a mountain, you know that you will eventually hit the bottom. It will injure or even kill you. But this final step of trust has no end. And yet God asks you to take this final step. To trust, to trust completely. No longer carried away by thoughts of tomorrow or memories of yesterday. Trust is now. The only moment is truly now; if you trust now, you will desire nothing more. No longer dependent on what was yesterday or what is desirable tomorrow.

Trust opens the door to eternity

Trust expresses itself in an unceasing joy that everything is good as it may be. The only thing you can do now is be aware of life. Dare to let yourself drown in the stream of being. Dare to let yourself dissolve in the wind from all directions. Trust in being in the now; it opens the door to eternity.

A meditation on trust

A meditation to cultivate 'trust'

How do you meditate?

Basically, you meditate by focusing your eyes on a fixed point or closing them. Make sure you are sitting upright on a chair or in a cross-legged position. Then bring your attention to your breathing and follow the inhalation and exhalation.

Don't pay attention to your thoughts

Thoughts come and go; the 'problem' is usually that we pay attention to our thoughts. Meditation teaches you to let your thoughts be for a moment: thoughts. Thoughts are not reality; the reality now is that you are paying attention to your breathing. Let your thoughts pass like clouds in the sky.

Have faith

As you have read, trust is not something tangible. Trust is a quality! So, in this meditation, focus on having no expectations;
– this meditation gets you nowhere
– you are doing this meditation neither right nor wrong
– you don't need to perceive or experience anything

Simply observe

Trust is like the center of a tornado. It almost seems as if you come to a complete standstill while all your thoughts, emotions, desires, and expectations rage around you. Simply observe it and acknowledge yourself as the observer.

Conclude the meditation with acknowledgment

When you decide to stop, acknowledge the meditation for what it was. Having trust means that a meditation can go in any direction. Did it not meet your expectations? Great, because you had to let them go. Did it not feel good? Then it was supposed to feel good. With trust, you learn to accept all outcomes without judgment. Acknowledge the meditation and be grateful.
